At domestic level, Baahubali is the topper among all films, but when we included the overseas collections PK and Bajrangi Bhaijan dominated the show.

“Rajkumar Hirani-directed comedy PK and Kabir Khan’s drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which have earned 3 billion rupees ($45.5 million) and 1.8 billion rupees ($27.3 million), respectively, far more than the 0.8 billion rupees ($12 million) that Baahubali has managed to earn in foreign theaters so far” stated Forbes. That made total Gross collections in the order of PK (Domestic 4.4 billion+ overseas 3 billion), Bajrangi Bhaijan (4.3+1.8 billion), Baahubali (5.1+0.8) rupees. As a result, Baahubali ranks only third after PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan in terms of total, gross worldwide box office revenues.

With a worldwide collection of close to 550 crore rupees, SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali is one of India’s highest grossing film ever, certainly the highest when taken into account its box office collections from our country alone.

Though it is hard to ignore the monetary benefits this film has rendered, it shall be done for a moment to take notice of the cinematic brilliance of Baahubali, for money could help one forget the fact that it always follows quality.

Yes, Baahubali is quality personified, and rightly so, its director Rajamouli was eulogized by many for his efforts with the latest applaud coming from ‘Kaviperarasu’ Vairamuthu who went on to call him the address of Indian cinema to the world.

That being said, it would be a transgression if we tend to forget the contribution of each and every person involved in this modern day showpiece.

While it is not feasible to recognize the workmanship of all those who have worked in Baahubali, it is definitely possible to value the work done by the movie’s main antagonist Rana Daggubati, who played an intimidating character named Paalvalthevan (Bhallala Deva in Telugu).

But interestingly, Rana in a recent interview has acknowledged that the reason behind his success in Baahubali is none other than ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan, according to a report.
